Interior design

With your cooperation, we plan and organize Your new life and business space and redesign or adapt the old one. From the starting idea, we are creating preliminary design all the way to the finishing control of project. Every client is approached individually with special attention so we could harmonize wishes with needs and financial possibilities of the client. We know that people always think how it is all expensive and they can't afford it, but we are pretty sure that it's a much cheaper procedure than by doing it all by yourself, not to even mention saving time.

  • ANALYSIS & Concept
At the first meeting we try to arrange some basic design guidelines with the client. We get familliar with the project, deadlines and other important parameters. Then we try to gather as much information about the client and his project, product, service or the existing status on the market. We shortly focus our client through our expert opinion and try to find a „common language“. The most important thing is that the client is satisfied, the project functional, aimed audience informed and material resources intended for the project are optimally used.
In this phase we analyze gathered data and define strategies, i.e. the course in which the project will develop. Every part of the project is specially analyzed, elements are defined correctly and precisely, and information is organised. A creative „brief“ is being held in which the client and designer should agree on following data: name of project, product, service or market information, goals of communication, certain aimed group, existing perception of the aimed group about the brand, what is wanted for the uttermost users to do – call for action, type and format of applied design, media, given parameters, deadlines, budget etc. Designing concept is a frame for all decisions needed to be made during project realisation. It is the most demanding part of the designing process and it requires great work, intelligence, skill, creativity, talent and experience, also including multiple steps: defining the designing problem, preparation – gathering and questioning materials, generating and choosing ideas, and verification of ideas.
The chosen concept is visualised in the design phase. It starts with complete empathy for the project theme and the way how the aimed group looks at a product or service. Then it starts with creating small, rough, quick sketches. Research, visual thinking and dealing with problems is hastened in a short period while making sketches. A few best ideas that we come up with by sketching are then elaborated. Design concept is visualised on the computer in proportions and media type (classic or on-line solution) of the final product. Finished conceptual solutions are presented to the client. Mostly one to three different conceptual solutions are presented of which the client chooses one. That one is afterwards modified and again presented to the client.
In the end, a final product chosen by the client is implemented. A preparation for printing is made for printed materials, which is forwarded to a client or a selected printing office (in our arrangement) in digital form. The designer oftenly engages in checking proof sheets and observance of the print. In digital publishing we create a simpler web page which is later forwarded to our web developer or programmer, depending on the complexity of the project. In this case we also do SEO optimisation which presents different methods and tehniques that apply to a web page, and out of it, with the goal of achieving higher rankings on search engines, such as Google, Bing, Yahoo. Regarding digital advertising services, we also deal with advertising through social networks (instagram, facebook, twitter, google+, pinterest, yoiutube...) according to the latest statistics, there are about 3.5 billion people online in the world.

We start the meeting with first arrangements about interior decoration, where we try to consult with the client about basic interior design guidelines. A potential buyer needs to explain the imaginated work to the designer and the designer oftenly needs to have a active role to help the client define his demands more precisely. We are interested in styles, colors, client affinities, so we can guess what the client thinks and wants. It is ideal if we establish a stable degree of trust between the client and the designer in the beginning. Eventhough it is possible to use a standardized form of speech or a simple understanding, it is very important to negotiate about prices, payment deadlines and all other questions of the project in the beginning. Planning is a designer's responsibility, along with all other participants of the project. Planned deadlines must be set up for the start and end of every step (activity), considering the client's fulfilment of demands.
This is one of the most significant steps of the design process. Designer creativity opens up in an effort to find solutions which are original, estetically acceptable and to give acceptable solutions to the problems that are defined in the project. The process of creating design can be viewed as a set of demands for which certain elements are searched for. These elements will fulfill those demands – similar to folding puzzles, where the elements are matched one by one, searching and finding just the one needed to complete the real picture. Something like that happens when the designer's „brain searches memory“ so he could find elements which fulfill the demand of a certain problem. The designer creates numerous sketches of the decorative area in order to check alternatives during this process. Sketches offer an ideal way to analyze space arrangement, location of walls/openings/doors and the location of main furniture. After being put on the paper, the suggestion can be analyzed and criticized so it could also be modified. It should be known that there is no „best“ or perfect solution to a problem in design. Numerous different approaches can result in a very successful solution.
After the concept is defined, the designer elaborates it with detail – creating drafts, plans, perspectives, 3D models etc. Some materials are included in the decision about design and other materials must be chosen between alternatives. We recommend gathering samples of materials being considered. In this phase we choose elements such as furniture, lighting, equipment etc. Pictures and information from the catalogue and brochures can be helpful while choosing. It is very useful to use drawings (models) with analyzing and choosing colors. Original drawings can be added different colors to individual design elements and in that way make a selection while preparing for the presentation. Final design can be completed after bringing all decisions in former steps. It is substantial do receive a clear approval from the client relating the offered design solution and the budget. Only after that (with possible corrections in revision phase, of course) can you go on with further steps of the project. The job of the designer is to gain an interior which will visually and functionally please all wishes and needs of the client, while the client's budget is optimally used.
After choosing an equipment courier and procedures, a strict time plan of procedures is defined by individual elements. A contract is signed by which prices and deadlines are confirmed after adopting the plan with couriers and performers. Each project requires surveillance „at the spot“ in order to ensure demands from the drawings and project specifications, quality of construction works and promptly deal with eventual problems. Surveillance becomes crucial in the finishing phase of the works, when there is a need to check finishing painting work, arrangement of furniture and a lot of small details that need a constant attention of the supervisor. Each project, of any range, includes different unwanted mistakes which are necessary to fix. The designer must be ready to quickly deal with different problems – on the delight of the client.

I started my path in Zagreb, 12 years ago, where I have finished Callegari Design Academy. I find my inspiration in nature, which always amazes me with its colors and shapes, and I am later transfering them into the interior. The work I do fills me up and makes me happy. I love the work I do and consider it as a privilege, because the only way to be successful and satisfied is to love what you do.

Design is omnipresent and there is a constant will and struggle for being better and different, but only nature is unbeatable...

After working for 20 years in various graphic studios and marketing agencies in Italy, USA, Zadar and Zagreb, I returned to my hometown of Split. I am a longtime professor of graphic design in Algebra with excellent knowledge of tools for computer graphics. Graphic design is my lifestyle and I can honestly say that I enjoy in it. I also enjoy photography, in an expressive way.

Offline or online communication is a joy for me and I simply enjoy every form of it.
